Gravitics Hosts Space Station Panel at ASCEND 2023

Las Vegas, Nevada – 10/25/2023 – Gravitics, Inc., an aerospace manufacturing company, attended the AIAA ASCEND 2023 Conference. The ASCEND conference is an annual event dedicated to bringing the space community together to share ideas and perspectives on the most critical space issues facing us today. ASCEND is hosted by The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the world's largest aerospace technical society dedicated to advancing the global aerospace profession.

Dr. Bill Tandy, Gravitics Chief Engineer, moderated a panel discussion on “Next Generation of Space Station Infrastructure” on Wednesday October 25th, 2023. Dr. Tandy was joined by panelists David Zuniga from Axiom Space, Dave Caponio from Vast Space, and Randy Lillard from Blue Origin.

The discussion was focused on the future of commercial space station destinations and the work being done today to pioneer that future. The audience had the opportunity to gain insights from each panelist about the latest developments in space station infrastructure, the challenges and opportunities of commercial space stations, and the role of government in this rapidly evolving field. The panelists also emphasized the importance of having a robust supply chain and the need for collaboration between industry, government, and academia while in the design and manufacturing phase of next-generation space stations.

Commercial space stations have the potential to revolutionize the way we live, work, and explore space. They provide a platform for new scientific research, commercial space manufacturing, space tourism and so much more. By reducing barriers to entry, and making space more accessible, next-generation space stations will help realize the full potential of commercial space destinations enabling an increase of human and robotic activity in low earth orbit, and beyond.
